Local First is a proud independent business alliance comprising 220+ La Plata County businesses, nonprofit organizations, and passionate community members we call Localists. Together, we work to create a thriving, equitable, and sustainable economy that values people, the planet, and prosperity for everyone across southwest Colorado.

Our membership levels are Business and Non-Profit, and if you don't fall into either of those categories, you can still be an Associate member.

This application takes about 5 minutes to complete and assesses whether your business or organization aligns with Local First's mission. Please be prepared to answer questions about your business's location, ownership, and day-to-day operations.

Associate Membership Starting at $13.13 Monthly

Associate Membership is for locally or regionally owned businesses, including franchises, that are not independently owned but want to support a strong local economy. Members receive promotional opportunities and connections while aligning with a network that values community engagement and local impact. This membership is a good fit for businesses that operate within a larger brand or system and are invested in supporting the local community.

Business Membership Starting at $13.13 Monthly

Business Membership is for locally owned, independent, for-profit businesses that want to support and strengthen our local economy. Members receive promotion, networking opportunities, and advocacy support while joining a community committed to keeping dollars local. It’s a great fit for businesses looking to connect, collaborate, and show their local commitment.

Nonprofit & Government Membership $90 Annually

Nonprofit Membership is for locally based nonprofit organizations that support and serve our community. Members receive promotion, connection opportunities, and collaborative support while joining a network committed to strengthening the local nonprofit and business ecosystem. This membership is ideal for nonprofits looking to build visibility, partnerships, and community impact.
